Below is a list for the early Barren County, KY tax list.
As shown Obediah Vaughan was in Barren County, KY in 1805. So by this he may have been in VA from his marriage in 1788 to 1804.

1806 - Obay Vaughan, 1 white over 21, no land

After 1819 there is no listing of Obediah Vaughn in Barren County KY, so by this Obediah Sr. may have passed away about 1818. The listing on 1819 is more then likely Obediah Jr. being Monroe County did not happen untill 1820. In 1820 his son John D Vaughan is found in Smith County, TN, just south of Barren County, KY. His other son Obediah Vaughan Jr. is found in Monroe County, KY., just south of Barren County, KY.

Obediah Vaughan Sr. is listed in this marrage in Barren County, KY:

This site also may also contain brother and sisters of Obediah Vaughn during this time and when and who they married.

My thoughts are that Obediah Vaughan left VA and moved to the VA Territories or also known as Kentucky or the Barren County, Ky area. I have found a Obediah Vaughn in the 1810 Barren County, Ky census. This Obediah is the right age for the one I am looking for. I also have found a Obediah Vaughn in the Monroe County KY 1820 census that may be a son of Obediah Sr listed above. This would make him a brother to John D Vaughan. His birth age (1795) is close to John D Vaughan (1790). John D Vaughn was in Smith County, TN in 1820 and this area is southwest of Monroe County KY. Both counties would have shared boundy lines.
