bullet  Research Notes:

From "Our Boone Families: Daniel Boone's Kinfolk" by Sarah Ridge Rockenfield
Jacob Martin Boone and Elizabeth Albright Boone lived in Guilford County, NC, where Martin was killed by the Indians ca 1780. They had some small children. Their mother died a short time later and the children were raised by their mother's people some 90 miles from where the Boone's lived in NC. The children were John, Daniel, Martin Jr, and Chatherine.

From "The Guilford Genealogist" Summer 1984

Martin and Elizabeth bought land from Ralph Gorrall, storekeeper and wife according to a deed dated 25 December 1771, recorded in 1772. The track of 251 acres was on Cedar Creek".

Martins property was confiscated because Martin "behaved as Tories" at least to the extent that his loyalty was in questioned. "we don't know the nature of his offence, whether a refusal to take the oath at muster, an outspoken objection to the rebellion or some more active participation." "In 1781 it was ordered "that the Estate of Martin Boone which is in the hands of the Commissioners for Confiscated Estated be restored to the widow and administrator."

The members of the family were members of the Friedens Lutheran Church.
