Dennis Williams, 1927-2004, Bettendorf, Iowa
Dennis Williams, 76, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
He was born Sept. 26, 1927, in Florence, a son of Burt and L. Josephine Carver Williams. On Oct. 27, 1990, he was married to Norma Mesmer, who survives of the home.
Mr. Williams retired in 1991 from Reynolds Manufacturing Co. in Rock Island after 25 years of service as a tool and die maker and later as a sales representative. He formerly worked at Benson Manufacturing in Kansas City for 15 years. He enjoyed being a husband, father and grandfather. He loved helping others and spending time with his buddies in the senior golf league at Palmer Hills.
Also surviving are a daughter, Marta Beck of Lansing, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Julie Smith, of Davenport, and Amy Humphries, of Bettendorf; and three grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Feb. 18 at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. A private inurnment service will be held at a later date.
